Introduction to Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing $100
The Montessori Approach is a culture of care which focusses on identifying and retaining strengths and abilities enabling people to be the best they can be.
The Introduction to Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing course is relevant to those who care for older adults and people living with dementia and/or other disability who are wanting an overview of the Montessori model. The course is also an ideal orientation/induction tool for organisations who are making Montessori their difference.
This course will provide an introduction to Montessori and the prepared environment. It is particularly useful for family members, care partners or volunteers who wish to know more about Montessori but who are not actively involved in culture change or development of Montessori activities.
For those wishing to gain a depth of knowledge and skills for the development of Montessori environments the AMI Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing eLearning Course is the preferred option. Learners have 30 days to complete the introduction course from day of enrolment.
AMI Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing Course $499
The AMI Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing (MDDA) Course follows the same content as the two day face to face MDDA workshop with the addition of activities and videos throughout. Learners are able to work through the course at their own speed.
The Montessori approach seeks to establish a ‘culture of care’ which will enhance quality of life.
This course provides the knowledge and skills to both understand the Montessori approach and it provides guidance of how to implement the approach.
Learners have 60 days from day of enrolment to complete this course.
Course Outcomes:
- Learn the history of Montessori and the translation of the principles to dementia, disability and ageing
- Recognise the importance of each person’s story including their strengths, skills, needs and abilities
